Give Us a Try

We would welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge of the martial arts with you. Since our material involves study of potentially life and death ideas, we reserve the right to apply selective standards for enrollment. As such we reserve the right to expel any student for unethical behavior. Our goal in teaching is to develop the entire person as the founder of Judo put eloquently as:

“Judo is the way of the highest or most efficient use of both physical and mental energy. Through training in the attack and defense techniques of judo, the practitioner nurtures their physical and mental strength, and gradually embodies the essence of the Way of Judo. Thus, the ultimate objective of Judo discipline is to be utilized as a means to self-perfection, and thenceforth to make a positive contribution to society.”

Please come by the dojo to observe a class or try one for free. Wear loose comfortable clothing such as a tee shirt and sweat pants. No shoes are worn on the mat. While we have no contracts that specify a length of training, we have found that students who spend a minimum of 6 months in training are the ones who seem to benefit the most.

If you decide to continue training with us and join the dojo, tuition is due monthly. Tuition is $60 per month per student. Whether you attend one class in a month, or every class in a month, you will be responsible for tuition for that entire month. In certain cases, per class mat fees may be substituted for tuition. Realize that Mossy Creek Dojo functions different than some businesses. All of our instructors teach on a voluntary basis. Cleaning and facility up keep is done largely by our student body. Still we do have some financial obligations such as rent, electrical bill, insurance, etc so we do require some remuneration. We think you will find we are the least costly martial arts studio in the area.

If you have any questions please call 865-548-9103 (you may need to leave a message so I may call you back) or send an email or stop by the dojo.
